With events across London throughout London Craft Week, 9th-15th May, we have picked out 5 things for you to do and enjoy in SE1 across the week.
Meet the creative communities and the people behind the businesses whilst they open their studios and spaces to the public. There are a selection of free and paid events and workshops.

Discover the Craft Behind Borough Market’s Traders
A day of free live demonstrations and tours highlighting some of the crafts and traditional skills involved in producing the finest food the Market has to offer.
Learn how to use knives correctly, see the art of bee keeping and nut-brittle making in action and watch their famous fishmongers shucking oysters.
The demonstrations and tours are free. Booking is essential for the tours

Tour of the Production Costume Workshop at English National Opera
A guided tour around the production costume workshop for the English National Opera. See the talented costume and millinery teams hard ar work, designing and making costumes ready for ENO’s forthcoming season at their home, the London Coliseum.

Explore the Garden Museum
Installations and drop-in performances explore and rupture the symbiotic relationship between humans roses and the natural world and amplify the politicised and ‘darker’ themes raised by the museum’s current exhibition.

FABAL x The Lettering Arts Trust: The Human being as Maker
Join Fabal in their taproom on the Bermondsey Beer Mile for a day of live stone-carving demonstrations by lettering artist, letter cutter and sculptor, Louise Tiplady. Have a go at stone carving yourself, try some of Fabal’s award-winning lager and understand more about the craft of brewing from their own malsters.

Repair and Heal at wagumi
Oco Tower based wagumi offers workshops in Japanese crafts, including the return of their popular masterclasses in kintsugu, a method of mending ceramics with lacquer and metal powder. Visitors can also join workshops on making Japanese-style incense. Booking is necessary.
