Tin box makers in SE1

Did you know Tin-Box Makers - A trade commonly known in the area of SE1 right up until the 1960’s. The workers would make all types of tins, from biscuit tins, to coffee, tea & sugar canisters, to tin trays… the list goes on!

Set within Trinity Village, Cole Street was developed between 1824 and 1830 to include houses, only nos. 18–24 remain; a warehouse originally used for hops and then by Wallins Tin Box Factory (now 28 Cole Street) and a Chapel (now 26 Cole Street).

We love the architecture & beautiful vintage ‘ghost’ signage you can spot on the facades around SE1.
