We recently completed a poll on our Bermondsey SE1 Instagram Stories, asking our community where they think are the best places to buy fresh bread from in Bermondsey.
Whilst there are many amazing suppliers and shops in the area serving bread, below are the top five most popular responses to the Instagram poll.
Bread from Lechevalier
Little Bread Pedlar
Founded in 2010 after a night out in east London between two friends Little Bread Pedlar has grown to be the most popular bakery in Bermondsey (according to our recent Instagram Poll) offering bread, pastries and specials. You can purchase from their Spa Terminus location for pick-up, or you can order for delivery online. (within a 4 mile radius)

Launched during the pandemic in summer 2020, the team behind Bermondsey Corner offer
a wide selection of freshly baked breads including baguette, seeded baguette, eฬpi, kalamata olive loaf and fig & almond loaf.

Bread Ahead
Bakery and baking school with online workshops, Bread Ahead is located at Borough Market.
Founded by Matthew in 2013, he had two simple intentions; to bring delicious and nutritious breads to people who love good food and to give people the skills to create bakery magic at home.

The Snapery Bakery
Founded in 2014 after an obsession for sourdough turned in to baking breads for friends and ignited the idea to go all in and start The Snapery bakery.
Predominantly a wholesale sourdough bakery selling to local businesses including Jose Pizarro, Casse Croute, Pique Nique, B Street Deli and The Watch House. Additionally you can find them every Saturday at Maltby Street Market 10-5pm.

Lechevalier Wine Bar and Shop
All of the daily breads served at Lechevalier are sourdough with a mixture of white sourdough, seedy white and country style loaf (with a dash of rye) Their weekend specials (Fri/Sat/Sun) include 100% rye (dark and intense), rye with seeds, whole grain flour and sunflower seeds, and the spelt (the Lechevalier teams absolute favourite!!)
Lechevalier Shop is open daily serving fresh bread, cheese, charcuterie, wine and other baked goods. The Wine Bar will open again this summer under the government guidelines. (and we couldnโt be happier about it!)
