Celebrating Community and Creativity at the Bermondsey Street Festival
The Bermondsey Street Festival is back for its 18th year on Saturday 21st September 11 am - 7 pm. It’s set to be more vibrant than ever! This beloved festival, which embodies the spirit of our community, invites residents, visitors, and local businesses to celebrate the unique charm of Bermondsey Street.
What started as a small local gathering has grown into a major event on the gallery’s calendar. This year's festival will transform Bermondsey Street into a lively hub of activity, showcasing the best of what our area has to offer. From artisan crafts to delicious street food, live music, a dog show and street entertainment, there’s something for everyone.
The festival's impact extends beyond just one day of fun. It’s a powerful tool for strengthening community ties and supporting the local economy. The recent revival of the festival, following the departure of original organiser Bill Owen, owes much to local businesses and volunteers. Special thanks to London Glass Blowing’s Gallery Director, Gena Johns, who has taken on the role of organiser, along with the support of other local supporters, including the team here at Bermondsey SE1.
This year’s event promises an even richer experience, with a variety of food stalls, artisan and craft booths, and performances throughout Bermondsey Street. Leathermarket Gardens will host a family-friendly area focused on wellbeing and the dog show while Tanner Street Park will offer a fantastic selection of live music and food and drinks.
London Glassblowing will be showcasing an eclectic array of glassworks at exclusive discounts. Look out for their stall on Bermondsey Street and our special Yard Sale at Carmarthen Place. It’s an excellent opportunity to discover unique pieces from Peter Layton and their talented team.
We are proud to support the Bermondsey Street Festival and we can’t wait to see you there!
