10 festive things to do in Bermondsey

It’s been a tough old year for us all, and as much as the statement of ‘bring on 2021’ is being thrown around, there is much to be cheerful about in Bermondsey. With so many wonderful local businesses and brands who need our support right now, we have pulled together a list of 10 things to do in Bermondsey throughout December.

Sunday Roast at The Kings Arms

We completed a recent poll on our Instagram Stories asking our community of locals where they like to eat their Sunday Roast's in Bermondsey.

Firstly, Bermondsey is full of excellent restaurants and pubs serving up your Sunday grub, coming in highest on our poll was The Kings Arms.

Cocktails at Crol and Co

Coffee by day and cocktails by night, a relaxed date-night location to begin the festive celebrations, pick up your drinks and stroll...

Enjoy takeaway cocktails and craft beers on tap from their London Bridge location, served until 7pm 6 days a week (Closing time subject to change) and Sundays until 5pm. The Bermondsey Crol and Co will be selling their cocktail hip flasks to take away.

Bruce Nauman at the Tate Modern

Makers Market at Blue Bermondsey

Opening Saturday 5th December, Make It Blue Christmas Market is a selection of food, crafts and small local businesses trading for the festive season.

The Makers Christmas Market will be open 5th, 12th, 19th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th December from 10am-4pm.

A Christmas Carol at Bridge Theatre

Enjoy the scary, joyful, spooky, hilarious A Christmas Carol with Simon Russell Beale, Patsy Ferrari and Eben Figueiredo.

The Bridge Theatre, located at Potters Field Park is open now and you can book your tickets here.

The Winter Heights rooftop bar at London Bridge

The Winter Heights pop-up offers spectacular 360° views of the London skyline, festive cocktails and bottomless fondue! Looks like we have been nice this year, because Santa has delivered.

They have partnered with legendary Borough Market traders the Ginger Pig and Drunk Cheese, and your tastebuds are in for a treat. All tickets include entry, a glass of mulled wine and a hearty meal from either vendor.

Opens 8th December, open everyday except Christmas Day from 12pm - 11pm

Dine out at Stoney Street, Borough Market

It’s time to get out and try the delicious menu at Stoney Street. They have an epic Christmas menu from the 26 Grains team daily from 9am-2pm and evening menu from Tom Cenci 6pm-10pm.

Spa Terminus for a festive feast

Stocking up the cupboards and planning your Christmas dinner. Spa Terminus opens up as retail units every Saturday, with some of them open during the week. (Please check with individual brands)

From your cured meats by Crown & Queue and olive oils from Maltby and Greek as perfect gifts, or chocolates by Lucocoa Chocolates as stocking fillers to your butchery and fresh veggies to fill up your plate, Spa Terminus is worthy of a stroll this December.

These small local businesses and entrepreneurs need to be supported this year!

Lechevalier Wine Bar and Shop

Step into Lechevalier for an evening of great wine, great food and great service or enjoy their large selection of wine, cheese and charcuterie to-go.

The interior setting allows you to enjoy an intimate date night or dinner with your support bubble and the shop allows you to get stocked up for Christmas!

Winter Lights exhibition curated by South Bank Centre

It will feature 15 lighting commissions dotted across South Bank Centre’s buildings as well as along the beautiful riverside walk. These will light up South Bank until 28th February 2021.

So there may not be the usual Christmas Markets this year, but South Bank do not disappoint.
